When the question went out,  Nicholas raised his hand, despite having no prior experience. On went the goalie jersey and gloves as Nicholas took to the center of the pitch for the coin toss (rock, paper, scissors) as Captain for the day. Nicholas played the entire game and made some fantastic saves. His parents and brother were cheering from the sideline as Nicholas heroically made save after save. Thank you Nicholas for your bravery that morning and backing up your team!

Hi Coaches:

Starting September 9th,2015, WCFC players will be showcased on a weekly basis in the Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows News. This initiative is a joint partnership between WCFC and our sponsor, West Coast Auto Group. We are asking all WCFC coaches that are participating in the West Coast Cup as well as all Micro Coaches to nominate players from their team who demonstrate key characteristics of a successful soccer player such as leadership, skill development, sportsmanship, team play, hard work and commitment over the Labour Day weekend. Since timing will be tight, we are asking coaches to send in their nominations as early as possible to allow the Communication Committee time to photograph the players as well as have their parent/guardian sign off on the photo release form.

Following the Labour Day weekend, all programs are underway so we would like to invite any of our coaches to submit nominations for your players at any time during the remainder of the season.

"Players of the Week" can only be nominated by WCAGFC coaches and technical staff with final selection determined by a weekly random draw.
One (1) male player and one (1) female player will be selected each week to be showcased in the "Players of the Week" ad featured in the Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows News. Nominated players must be registered members of WCAGFC.

Please complete the attached nomination form and be sure to include a brief reasoning as to why this player has been nominated. Once the form is complete, please send it to potw@westcoastfc.ca

Thanks!
